Many manga, not enough books, you know the drill, yadda yadda ;D Also, I won’t write anything about the Mock the Week books because come on, what am I supposed to say about books full of funny one-liners, haha.

Queen’s Quality vol. 1-3
I find this series slightly annoying to read. I don’t exactly know why that is, but I feel like there’s just too much text (yeah, I know, it’s weird for me to complain about that point) and I also still don’t really like the heroine and the characters in general. But at least there’s an interesting antagonist for me to care about (lol) and I’m curious in which direction the plot will move from now on. Also, I liked the part about how everyone has negative emotions and that that’s totally legit, too.

Manga Love Story vol. 6-10
I still like it a lot, and not just for the ero content. The relationship of Yura and Makoto is just pleasantly wholesome (even if Makoto surely is anything but a saint, just look at his erotic fantasies lol) and I enjoy their little slice of life stories as a nice addition to all the ecchi. Well, I don’t regret buying the volumes again after having sold my copies years ago. I just can’t seem to find vol.65 for a reasonable price, and it’s bugging me a lot, haha.

Bungo Stray Dogs vol. 20
Nooooo! As if waiting for this volume after the cliffhanger of vol. 19 wasn’t painful enough – now this one ends on a cliffhanger too. And there isn’t even a release date for vol. 21 yet. Just horrible! Well, and as for the volume, I liked how the plotline from the end of the last volume seemed to be over somewhat quickly…but I suspected that things wouldn’t indeed be that easy. Still, I have to admit that I’m not entirely sold on the current arc. The skills of the characters were always sort of balanced throughout most of the story, so I’m not sure about the introduction of a basically undefeatable foe. A foe who got yet another way overpowered ability as of this volume. That does spoil the fun a bit, I gotta say.

Urusei Yatsura vol. 4-6
This manga is a lot of fun. Way more fun than the anime which felt pretty tedious at times, if you ask me. By now most of the main characters have made their appearance (I’m curious about whether Ryuunosuke and her dad will be less annoying in the manga…I hated the dad with a passion when I watched the anime, lol) and the usually single-chapter stories are an enjoyable read. I’m glad that a publisher finally decided to make this classic available to western readers!

Keine Cheats für die Liebe vol. 7-8
I sort of still enjoy Wotakoi, but…I’m not really invested in it anymore. Okay, I have to admit that my initial dislike for Kou is pretty much gone by now since she became so much less annoying in those volumes. But the relationship part of the manga just doesn’t really interest me all that much. Give me all the otaku jokes, that’s what I’m here for!

My Genderless Boyfriend vol.2
Just as good as the first volume – such an enjoyable series <3 And oddly enough I absolutely don’t mind the relationship stuff in this one. Maybe because it feels less stressful because the couple from this manga are simply relationship goals, while the ones from Wotakoi are…er, less so.

Kakegurui vol. 5-6
Just when I thought I was starting to get bored of this series…no, I’m absolutely not, it’s still amazing! Every new game they play basically blows my mind, even though I’m usually too dumb to understand the intricacies of each game. Well, but the characters do and that’s enough for me, lol. Anyway, a highly enjoyable manga and I’m torn between wanting to read all the volumes right now and going through them on a more slowly pace for prolonged fun, haha.

D.Gray-man vol. 13-27
This series still feels massively confusing at times and I wasn’t sure if I still enjoyed it at around volume 15 or so. But I do…I really do! And as of volume 27 we had plenty of revelations and flashbacks and now many things from the earlier volumes are suddenly starting to make sense! Which is a really rewarding feeling and it makes working through the earlier utter confusion absolutely worthwhile! Also, I like how the artstyle has developed over the course of the series. The current style looks very different from the beginning, which felt way more detailed. This can feel sort of odd at times, because some characters look really different from their earlier versions, but I don’t mind too much. Anyway, I don’t regret having re-read the first 22 volumes, and I also definitely don’t regret reading on after that!

Sengoku Blood vol. 3-4
Meh. The first two volumes had a certain trashy charm, but the final volumes were pretty boring. I was starting to get annoyed at the heroine, and the ending felt quite bland to me. However, I have to say that I like how this version of the story (with Nobunaga actually being his sister etc) was combined with the actual truth of the Honnoji incident. I would have liked to see a take like that in a more serious kind of Samurai story, actually.

Sherlock Holmes und die seltsamen Särge
Well, that one was…sort of good, but also sort of not? I liked how the author used various real-life mysteries and changed them into mental challenges for Sherlock Holmes. But some of the stories felt oddly modern. Like, I’m not entirely sure whether people already knew about the health hazards of mould in a house in the year 1900. So, in the end it was okay-ish, I guess. Not my favourite Holmes book, but also not the worst I’ve read.

Brexit for Dummies
Once again, not the kind of Brexit book I was looking for. The first few chapters were pretty informative, but the latter ones are mostly a guide for British business owners. And I’m not a British business owner. Obviously. Though that’s not the books‘ fault, but it just wasn’t the right thing for me.

UK Government & Politics Annual Survey 2011-2014
Finally done with all the Annual Surveys and being a politics nerd I really enjoyed reading them. It’s sort of funny to see how much British politics has changed since just a few years ago. Like, politicians taking responsibility for their actions and thus trying to act with at least some integrity and honesty? Sounds like something from another world!

Der Herr der Ringe
Finally done with this tome of epic proportions. I thought I would never be done, even though I was actually going through the pages really fast! Well, and of course I liked it quite a bit. I enjoy lengthy travel descriptions in my fantasy stories, and so the journey through Middle Earth with the Fellowship of the Ring was a lot of fun. I sort of want to rewatch the films now, but…looking at the pile of as of yet unwatched DVDs, this isn’t gonna happen anytime soon.
